Sovereign Turf Celebrates Milestone with a Special Tribute to a Community Hero
As we wrap up an incredible 2024, we want to share a story that’s not just about us but about the amazing people we get to meet along the way. This year has been extra special for us as we celebrated key milestones in our turf roll sales. To mark each occasion, we’ve been surprising our customers with “Golden Rolls”. As the year comes to a close, we’ve awarded our final Golden Roll of 2024, and it went to someone truly extraordinary.
On Monday 16 th December, Liam Gallard, Regional Sales Manager of our Sidcup and Horsham depots, had the pleasure of surprising Ben Saunders, the Founder and Managing Director of Flawless Cleaning Services. Ben isn’t your average business owner - he’s a community hero. Through his, and his teams, tireless efforts, Ben transforms overgrown gardens, unkempt patios, and building repairs for people in need, free of charge. His projects are sustained by the support of his dedicated YouTube community, whose fundraising efforts fuel his charitable projects.
Ben thought he was filming a Christmas special for his channel when we decided it was time for Ben to have a little surprise of his own. We arrived at the home of Jim, his current project recipient, and presented Ben with a few special gifts. These included our Gold Sovereign Coin, a celebratory bottle of champagne, and, most importantly, free turf for his next lawn project - Jim’s garden.
Liam said “Seeing Ben’s reaction was a highlight of my year. Ben does so much for so many all year round, it great to be able to celebrate him for change.”
This moment marked the end of our Golden Roll Campaign for 2024. Earlier this year, we surprised Gary at ASP Environmental on his landscaping job as the recipient of our 500,000th roll. Gary received a bespoke Wilderness Adventure Day for two. In June, GDC Ltd purchased our 1 millionth roll, so we surprised their team at the office with a hot air balloon ride for two.
This final celebration with Ben felt particularly special. Supporting his current project means that the transformation of Jim’s garden will continue into the new year without additional costs. January can be a tough month for charities and fundraisers, so we’re thrilled to offer a little support to the incredible work Ben does.
Each milestone this year has been an opportunity to give back to our customers and highlight the amazing things they’re doing. As we step into 2025, we want to thank everyone who made this year so memorable. Here’s to more milestones, more stories, and more opportunities to give back next year.
